I'm ok with the idea that a dress can't always be worn multiple ways. When I reach for a favourite dress it's because I love it, as is, one and done! However, the more I wear them the more I realize that adding a sweater, jacket, different shoes, or accessories dress more appropriate for work or make it feel more casual. Here are 3 ways to wear a slip dress purchased at Forever 21.
I love that by adding a jacket or cardigan the dress suddenly looks work appropriate. The tank top over the dress isn't my favourite look but on a trip or in cooler weather a short sleeve or long sleeve black T could make the dress look like a skirt. Do you insist on being able to wear something 3 ways before a purchase? I expect that kind of versatility out of separates but not always from dresses! You can knot the hem of long dresses or gather one side up into a brooch or kilt pin like I did with the yellow dress below.
